mental health programs
We help families and individuals cope with the stresses and strains of everyday life. Our therapists are trained and experienced in everything from depression and children who have been abused or children who have been adopted to anger management, from substance abuse to dealing with the death of a loved one.
Family therapists help parents and children work though domestic violence, adoption and gay/lesbian issues.

counseling
for all
We also have skilled therapists who work
with children. We can help families re-establish themselves
after a parent has been in jail or children have been removed
by court order.
When you just can’t seem to cope, the
YWCA of Contra Costa County/Sacramento offers help. Our trained, experienced
counselors, therapists and specialized programs can help
you, your spouse or partner and your children figure out
what needs to be fixed and how to fix it so life is more
satisfying and productive.
We help adults and teens work
through depression, anxiety, sexual abuse and other issues.
Families come to us to figure out how to live together
happily and safely. We help children and their families,
separately and together, create their own stability in
a changing world.
Our counselors use a variety of techniques
in all therapy settings. These include Theraplay(r), a
method to connect families in play, where they learn to
trust, enjoy and appreciate themselves and each other. |

order or other circumstances. This includes therapy to
improve bonding between parent and child, techniques for
helping children who misbehave, and reunification therapy
to help families re-establish a firm foundation.
Counseling and therapy are available at our
Martinez, Richmond, Antioch, Oakley and Bay Point centers.
HIV program
Residents of Contra Costa County who qualify are able to receive free therapy through the Ryan White Fund for a certain amount of time. Clients must be referred through the Contra Costa HIV Program or an agency affiliated with the HIV Program, such as New Connections or the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
Clients are able to discuss issues of importance in therapy with an emphasis being placed on maintaining your health and being socially active, not becoming isolated because of the illness.
Click here for more information about the HIV Program.
